A Publishing Infrastructure Built for Long-Term Value

Wildtone Global Publishing is the specialized publishing and rights administration division of Wildtone Music Group. We exist to provide songwriters, producers, labels, and catalog owners with the structured infrastructure needed to protect, organize, and maximize the value of their music rights over time.

Unlike traditional publishing services that focus on individual song placement, we take an institutional approach — treating every catalog as a portfolio of intellectual property that requires disciplined administration, accurate metadata, clear ownership documentation, and a coordinated global collection strategy.

Rights-First Philosophy
Every decision begins with protecting and clarifying ownership.

Why Wildtone

Built Different. Built to Last.

01
Institutional Rigor

We apply the same discipline to publishing administration that institutional investors apply to asset management — precision, documentation, and accountability.

02
Ownership Clarity

Before any royalty can be collected, ownership must be unambiguous. We prioritize rights structuring as the foundation of every engagement.

03
Global-First Thinking

Every workflow, every registration, every collection strategy is designed with international reach as a default — not an afterthought.

04
Data Integrity

Metadata is the connective tissue of modern publishing. We treat catalog data with the same importance as the creative works themselves.

130+
Territories

We collect royalties on your behalf in over 130 territories worldwide through our network of collection societies.

Global Administration

International Reach, Local Precision

Effective publishing administration requires more than a list of territories. It requires an understanding of how each market operates — its societies, its licensing frameworks, its collection timelines, and its data requirements. Wildtone Global Publishing coordinates administration across key territories with the specificity each market demands.

Whether your catalog earns primarily in North America, has growing exposure in Latin America, or requires registration in European societies, our infrastructure supports coordinated, territory-aware administration designed to close collection gaps and maximize global reach.

FAQ

Music Publishing FAQ

Straight answers for songwriters, producers, artists, rightsholders, and catalog owners.

Publishing Fundamentals

Music publishing is the business of managing, protecting, and monetizing musical compositions. When you write a song, that composition generates copyrights that produce income every time it is played, streamed, synced in audiovisual content, or performed live. A publisher like Wildtone Global Publishing handles registrations, royalty collection, and licensing opportunities to maximize your music's long-term income.

Music distribution delivers the master recording to platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube. Music publishing deals with the composition — the lyrics and melody. A song generates two types of rights: the master (distribution) and the composition (publishing). At Wildtone Music Group we offer both services.

Songs can generate value long after release. Without proper publishing administration, works may be misregistered, unmatched, under-collected, or left without the structure needed to capture royalties efficiently across multiple uses and territories.

Publishing royalties include: Performance royalties (collected by PROs like ASCAP, BMI, SGAE, SGACEDOM, SAYCO when music is broadcast or performed); Mechanical royalties (administered by The MLC in the U.S. for streaming and downloads); Sync royalties (from film, TV, ads, and games); and Print royalties (from sheet music). Wildtone Global Publishing collects all of these across 130+ territories.

Yes. Having music online does not mean the publishing side is fully administered. Many creators release music while their composition rights remain partially unregistered, incorrectly split, or poorly managed. Streaming platforms generate editorial royalties that may go unclaimed without a publisher. Wildtone Global Publishing ensures you receive 100% of what your music generates.

A PRO (Performance Rights Organization) collects public performance royalties on behalf of songwriters and publishers. Examples: ASCAP, BMI, SESAC (USA), SGAE (Spain), SGACEDOM (Dominican Republic), SAYCO (Colombia), PRS (UK), SACEM (France). The publisher works alongside PROs, registering works and ensuring the editorial share is correctly assigned. Wildtone works with leading PROs worldwide.

A PRO collects certain public performance royalties. A music publisher handles the broader business and administrative side of the composition — registration support, royalty coordination, split management, rights oversight, sync licensing, and long-term catalog strategy.

Wildtone Global Publishing Services

Wildtone Global Publishing offers: work registration with PROs worldwide (ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, SGAE, SGACEDOM, SAYCO, The MLC, and more); collection of performance, mechanical, and sync royalties; sync licensing management for film, TV, advertising, and games; intellectual property protection and unauthorized use monitoring; legal advisory on publishing and licensing contracts; and detailed, transparent income reporting.

Wildtone Global Publishing operates globally across 130+ territories, including the United States, Latin America, Europe, Asia, and beyond. We work with a network of collective management organizations to ensure royalties are collected in every country where your music is used — from a radio station in Tokyo to a Spotify playlist in Brazil.

Yes. Sync licensing is one of the most important income sources for composers and songwriters. Wildtone Global Publishing actively works to place members' music in films, TV series, documentaries, commercials, video games, podcasts, and digital content. Our team maintains direct relationships with music supervisors, advertising agencies, and audiovisual production companies.

Wildtone works with ASCAP, BMI, SESAC (USA), The MLC (USA), SGAE (Spain), SGACEDOM (Dominican Republic), SAYCO (Colombia), PRS for Music (UK), SACEM (France), GEMA (Germany), SIAE (Italy), JASRAC (Japan), SOCAN (Canada), APRA AMCOS (Australia), and many more — allowing us to collect royalties in virtually every major music market.

Wildtone Global Publishing combines rights knowledge, administrative structure, strategic catalog thinking, and hands-on execution. Our goal is not simply to process songs, but to help build a publishing foundation that is organized, scalable, and commercially valuable over time.

Registration, Splits & Metadata

A split sheet confirms who contributed to a song and what percentage belongs to each contributor. It is one of the most important publishing documents because it reduces disputes, prevents registration errors, and supports accurate royalty allocation across all territories and platforms.

Unclear splits can delay registrations, trigger disputes, and interrupt royalty flow. Before a catalog can be administered correctly, ownership information must be aligned and documented so the work can move through the publishing process with stronger accuracy and less friction.

To register your compositions you need: song titles, writer names, ownership splits, publisher information (if applicable), PRO affiliation details, IPI/CAE numbers when available, release information, and any agreements affecting ownership or administration. The more complete and accurate the information, the faster we can register and protect your works.

Yes. Many catalogs contain title inconsistencies, missing writer data, duplicate registrations, incorrect ownership information, or incomplete publishing metadata. Cleaning up this infrastructure can be critical for stronger administration, cleaner reporting, and better royalty recovery.

The ISWC (International Standard Musical Work Code) is a unique global code that identifies a musical composition — it is the "identity document" of your song at the composition level. It is fundamental for collective management organizations worldwide to correctly identify your work and collect its royalties. Wildtone Global Publishing manages ISWC codes for its members' works.

The ISRC (International Standard Recording Code) identifies a specific recording — the master — and is assigned by the distributor or label. The ISWC identifies the musical composition (lyrics and melody), regardless of who records it. One composition can have multiple ISRCs (different versions, remixes, covers) but only one ISWC. The publisher manages the ISWC.

Royalties & Payments

Royalty payments are processed according to the distribution calendar of collective management organizations and digital platforms — generally quarterly or semi-annually, depending on the income source and collecting organization. Every member receives a detailed statement with a breakdown by work, territory, and source.

The specific participation terms are agreed upon individually in each publishing agreement. Wildtone Global Publishing commits to competitive, fair conditions within the industry standard. During the initial evaluation we explain the commission structure in detail so you can make a fully informed decision. Our goal is always for the creator to receive the highest possible percentage of their royalties.

Streaming platforms generate both master royalties (paid by your distributor) and publishing royalties from the composition (collected by your publisher). Wildtone Global Publishing collects the publishing royalties through The MLC in the United States and equivalent organizations in each territory. Without a publisher, these streaming publishing royalties can go unclaimed.

Yes. Missing or lower-than-expected royalties can be caused by bad metadata, unmatched works, incomplete registrations, ownership conflicts, title variations, delayed reporting, or weaknesses in catalog administration. Reviewing the publishing side is often one of the smartest first steps.

The MLC is the organization designated in the United States to administer and distribute mechanical royalties generated by digital streaming under the Music Modernization Act. If your music streams in the US, your works need to be correctly registered in The MLC to receive these royalties. Wildtone Global Publishing registers its members' works with The MLC.

Copyright & Legal Protection

Yes. Protecting the intellectual property of our members is a fundamental priority. Wildtone Global Publishing registers your works, monitors the use of your music to detect unauthorized uses, and provides legal advisory in the event of infringements or copyright disputes. Our team works to ensure your compositions are duly protected in all territories where your music is distributed.

No. Wildtone Global Publishing operates primarily through administration agreements where the composer retains full ownership of their copyrights. We coordinate registrations, manage metadata, and pursue collection on your behalf under a structured, transparent framework.

If we detect unauthorized use of your composition, Wildtone Global Publishing takes action to protect your rights — including sending takedown notices, claiming overdue royalties, and when warranted, coordinating with specialized legal advisors to resolve the dispute. Our monitoring system helps identify uses of your music across different platforms and media.

Sync licensing is the process of licensing a musical composition for use alongside visual content — films, TV series, documentaries, commercials, video games, trailers, and podcasts. It is one of the most lucrative income sources for songwriters, generating both upfront fees and ongoing royalties from broadcasts.

Working with Wildtone

Yes. Wildtone Global Publishing works with songwriters, producers, artists who write their own music, catalog owners, independent rightsholders, companies, managers, and strategic partners that need professional publishing administration and copyright support — from individual creators to institutional clients.

Yes, if the producer owns songwriting rights, co-writing shares, or any composition interest in the song. Many producers focus on the master side and overlook the publishing income that may also belong to them.

Yes. Strong publishing structure matters both before and after release. New songs benefit from clean setup from day one, while legacy catalogs often benefit from review, correction, cleanup, and monetization strategy.

It is recommended. If you are a songwriter or composer, ideally you should be affiliated with a PRO like ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, SGAE, SGACEDOM, SAYCO, or the organization corresponding to your country. If you are not yet affiliated, Wildtone Global Publishing can guide you on the best option based on your location and help you through the affiliation process.

Technically yes, but professional publishing administration requires specialized industry knowledge, relationships with organizations in multiple territories, global monitoring and collection capability, and access to sync opportunities. A professional publisher like Wildtone Global Publishing has the infrastructure, relationships, and experience to maximize your income in ways that are very difficult to achieve independently — especially internationally.
